Cinema Concepts signed their first lease for Suite 214 at Powers Ferry Business Park on April 22, 1992. The company has seen a lot of changes in the area and in its industry over the past 27 years.
The company was founded by Stewart Harnell, who had a solid history in the film industry working with National Screen Service in New York City. He founded Cinema Concepts 42 years ago, using his stellar reputation and lifelong relationships in the film industry, thus building a successful business alongside his wife, Sharron. Sharron now serves as CEO and Stewart’s memory lives on in the flourishing business he began.
The business opened with 3 employees, Stewart overseeing sales and creative input. The film industry in Atlanta wasn’t large scale like today, but Cinema Concepts has carved out a niche for themselves with clients not only from Atlanta, but all over the world. According to Sharron, there’s a wonderful family relationship within the film industry as well as within Cinema Concepts itself.
When asked why they chose Powers Ferry Business Park and why they stay, President John Price, who has served with the company for 21 years, said Powers Ferry Business Park fit their needs with location and possibility for growth, starting with one suite and expanding to three. Stewart was always very happy with EpiCity and Sharron and John admit it would be a big undertaking to move. However, there’s never been any reason to relocate and no plans to do so anytime soon. “EpiCity has always been very accommodating and helpful along the way as our business has evolved,” said John.
“We are very pleased with our relationship with EpiCity,” said John. “EpiCity’s management team and the entire staff are supportive of our needs and they have seen us through many expansions and specialized requests. They are also very understanding of production schedule and that the renovations can’t impact our business.”
Having a stable environment in which to do their work is also a top priority and John and Sharron agree that Powers Ferry Business Park has the people and infrastructure to ensure those requirements are met.
