Masterpiece Lighting and EpiCity Celebrate Nearly Two Decades Together

Dana Hunt incorporated Masterpiece Lighting in 2005 and moved into its first location at 14th Street in Atlanta. Over the years, the company has opened a second location in Roswell and its warehouse off Howell Mill. EpiCity and our Atlanta commercial real estate team are thrilled to continue this relationship.

The 14th Street location has 16,000 SF with twenty-two employees. Two-thirds of its business is concentrated in lighting and ceiling fans and the other third in architectural and decorative hardware. Masterpiece Lighting provides options for homeowners, designers, and builders, and offers distinctive choices including chandeliers, contemporary and traditional light fixtures, architectural hardware, faucets, home accents, and more.

Prior to opening Masterpiece Lighting, Hunt was president of Georgia Lighting from 1992 – 2004. With over 30 years in the lighting business and a member of his family’s fourth generation to live and work in the Midtown and Downtown area of Atlanta, he has seen a lot of changes. One thing that has stayed consistent is his relationship with his landlord, EpiCity. Our Atlanta commercial real estate team is a constant presence, providing owners, investors, lenders, and tenants with tenacious leasing support, attentive property management, and invaluable insight.

“We have built a relationship with Tom and his team on trust, with a foundation of integrity for almost 20 years. We have seen the bottom of the economy fall out in 2006 – 2009, and we’ve also gotten through the pandemic together,” said Hunt. “EpiCity has always been a great partner and my only wish is that they could be our landlord at all our properties. They continue to be responsive, professional, and superb with follow-up, all while maintaining the property with excellence.”

Masterpiece Lighting is growing again and expanding its product categories. According to Hunt, the company can bring in appliances and high-end outdoor grills to its current product line without having to add space in its beautiful and functional showroom. Other possible expansions are also in the talking stages, so it’s an exciting time for the company.

The commercial real estate team at EpiCity is thrilled Masterpiece Lighting chose 558 14th Street NW all those years ago, and we wish the company nothing but continued success.
