Burak and Asli Kucukonder started HFF (Health and Family First) Cosmeceuticals in 2019. The journey began when Asli was experimenting with making soap, lotions, and scrubs at home, then sharing them with families and friends. They were so popular that their business quickly boomed. Fast forward a few years and they now have a thriving business with 3,500SF in Suite 1100 at 225 Curie Drive in Alpharetta. Five total employees, all family, work out of the space.
The couple, originally from Turkey, moved to the Atlanta area from Florida in 2021. In 2010, when they first moved to the U.S., they started an online business. “We have always been entrepreneurs,” says Burak. “We then started a restaurant for a while, then I got into the limo business and Asli started a catering business.”
Those businesses proved exhausting, and they were both working all the time and barely had any time together and with their daughter. Burak was driving all over Miami and Ft. Lauderdale areas. He sold his share of the business to his partner, Asli closed her catering business, and the two have been working together from home since. Even though they are still working hard, they are together and able to spend a lot of time with their now 14-year-old daughter.
HFF Cosmeceuticals carries two lines of skin care products. The first, Sand and Sea By Ashley, is Asli’s own creations. They create unique spa gift boxes for any occasion and individual products as well. All products are made with traditional methods, in small batches and machine-free. Plus, as they like to say, “with love.” Petite Maison USA is the other line of products that they import from Turkey and serve as the U.S. distributor.
They have transitioned the warehouse from their home to 225 Curie, and one of the things they are most excited about is that while customers will still order online, local customers can come by the location to pick up their orders if they choose. “We have been expanding, adding new products and we needed more space,” said Burak. “The space at 225 Curie Drive is perfect, as it’s close to our home, we like the Alpharetta area, there are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, and it’s a safe and secure area.”
