EpiCity Hires Austin Lent as the Newest (and Oldest) Member of its Maintenance Staff

EpiCity, Atlanta’s premier real estate firm, has recently hired Austin Lent as the newest member of its maintenance staff. Lent is responsible for various maintenance duties, working mainly at one of the company’s office buildings, Powers Ferry Business Park. Lent was previously maintenance supervisor at EpiCity’s former corporate office for 17 years, and when that position ended, he started the next day at EpICity.

“We’ve seen his incredible work ethic and the results of his hard work for years,” said Tom Stokes, President of EpiCity.  “Austin is a great asset to our team.”

According to Lent, he is 31 years into his fifth career, having started in the Navy, serving in World War II, then, after college and seminary, he was a pastor for five years in his home state of California.  Following that, he was an elementary school teacher for 14 years, and left to start a manufacturing company that made playground equipment for schools.  From there, he became a remodeling contractor and then served as a director for building and grounds in Los Angeles, before moving to Gwinnett County and working at Perimeter Park Drive, where he met EpiCity.

“My love for working began when I was a child,” says Lent.  “I grew up on a farm in San Jose and started working when I was five years old.  My first job was picking five boxes of prunes each day (or 200 pounds!), and when I was a teenager, my siblings and I were responsible for picking 50 boxes or 2,000 pounds of prunes each day.”

Besides working, Lent’s hobby is to fly planes. Austin has a private pilot license and owned a plane for several years.
