We are excited to share that our communities are hosting life-saving blood drives with the American Red Cross and LifeSouth. According to LifeSouth, each year, nearly five million Americans need a blood transfusion, which means they need to collect 266,000 blood donations a year or from 728 donors a day.
Aware Software in The Lumberyard Office Lofts is hosting a blood drive with LifeSouth in the North side of the parking lot. Everyone in the nearby community is invited to come, and if you’re having lunch at Bone Garden Cantina, it’s just steps away to give blood. Ashley Dunn in human resources at Aware Software is coordinating the event.
In Powers Ferry Business Park at 2030 Powers Ferry Road, Kimberlee Fisher (in blue and white dress) of CTG (Comprehensive Technical Group) Atlanta hosted a blood drive with the American Red Cross last month. According to Kimberlee, the blood drive was a success, and believes the final pint count was 13. She plans to host a blood drive once a quarter and she has started a community service initiative, Bringing Service to You, that provides easy, on-site opportunities for people to give back to their communities in some way, and in the process, everyone in the business park gets to network with each other. “We can’t always find the time in our busy lives to help save another, so Bringing Service to You is convenient and you don’t have to miss work while giving back to your community,” said Kimberlee.
If your business is interested in hosting a blood drive, they can contact American Red Cross or LifeSouth.
