Bone Garden Cantina Spices up The Lumberyard

bone garden cantina at The Lumberyard office LoftsBone Garden Cantina opened in The Lumberyard on Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard nearly seven years ago. According to General Manager, Zach Williams, they chose this location because of the ample parking.  Being in the loft office community, with hundreds of homes across the street, is great for them. It’s also a plus for the neighboring businesses like Westside Foundry, Dal Tile and Restaurant Depot, to name just a few, as their customers as well as staff can walk in for lunch or a quick bite after work.

There is a great energy at Bone Garden Cantina and in the entire office park. The outside seating area at the restaurant serves as an energizing meeting space and there is plenty of room inside to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. Bone Garden Cantina is filled with artwork inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead holiday. Its food is made from scratch in small batches, using fresh ingredients. According to Williams, many of the recipes come from the state of Guerrero in Mexico, and the cooking style has built a big following.

“Many people tell us that their grandmothers used to cook like this and make these dishes for them,” said Williams. The most popular dishes include their many tamales and the Carne Adobo Taco. The tequila and their margaritas are a big focus, too.

Monthly they have Tequila Tastings and the next is February 21. During the Tequila Tastings one can enjoy a selection of the favorite tequilas paired with a special tasting menu, and also learn interesting tequila facts! Sign up on the Bone Garden Facebook page for these events. Check them out at www.BoneGardenCantina.com.

“We love having Bone Garden Cantina in The Lumberyard,” said Tom Stokes, president of EpiCity, the management company for The Lumberyard. “They bring texture to The Lumberyard and the entire West Midtown community. I take every chance I find to have a taco or tamale when I’m nearby. The friendly staff, wonderful food and fun events make Bone Garden a great asset to us and the whole neighborhood.”
